I recently bought a new Sony Blu-Ray Home DVD player. This player now has the capability to use a portable USB pin drive to play .aiv files. A lot of my .aiv files play with no problem. However, there are some that will not. They usually say: "can not load file". The .aiv files that will not play on this home DVD player play just fine on my MacPro. Is there any way to RE-convert the .aiv files with some video converter so that they play correctly on our Home DVD player? Thanks!

Avi(not aiv) files are just a container for the video and audio files that make up the movie. The video and audio files can be produced from various codecs. Your DVD player obviously doesn't recognise some of these.

Try MPEGStreamclip and see if converting from .avi to .avi works.
