Hi

Alacritty vs. Kitty vs. Rio vs WezTerm

which terminal emulator is the simplest, based on the KISS principle?

The intention is to use the same Terminal on different platforms?

Otherwise K.I.S.S. would suggest IMHO to stick with the included Terminal or, if you want GPU-acceleration, split panes, hot keys, search, etc., I would go with iTerm2 on macOS. YMMV.

It's old-school

as any terminal intrinsically is 😀 … anyway: iTerm2 has no additional dependencies or requirements; native macOS system integration (e.g. uses system notification, metal support, &,&,&); feature rich; mature project; Swift sources/XCode project… and Swift is a high-level language, and unlike Rust, that’s desirable for system applications because of its low-level expressivity.

What makes any project of your list »new school« 😀?
