Alarm clock showing old itunes playlists..

Basically the alarm clock app I am using on the MBP, only shows my itunes library from last year i.e. my old playlists and none of my recent songs. I was wondering if anyone knows how to solve this thanks.
p.s. it is not just this app, I have also come across this problem with other applications.
