Doesn't it have its own alarm clock?
Maybe that was just the 4G's...
I think skd means those alarm docks that you plug your iPod into...
There's a lot of poor quality ones out there, to be sure. Just remember that small, crappy speakers will translate into a crappy alarm clock.
Otherwise, yeah, my 5G iPod has an alarm clock on it too...
