if I was right next to my iPhone my AW4 would be alerted when the alarm from my iPhone went off but on my aw 5 I have no alerts whatsoever I've reset it and reaired but no avail

i think it worked this way: when your phone display is on you get not alerted on watch, when your phone display is off you get the alert and can shut down the alert from the watch.
did you test it this way?
its all sorted now thank.You're right about the way it works the thing was I wasnt sure wich watch setting but I did it by trial and error
