Smart Play lists function perfectly on my 1st Generation Nano, Artist playback of "All" defaults to the logical/iTunes way of displaying them in Album order then release date, I can simply hold down the middle button on any Album, Artist or Song to add it to a new "on the go" playlist. I can create more than 1 "on the go" playlist in any 24 hour period. I can see the entire track name as it scrolls (some videos or DJ sets have VERY long and VERY similar sounding names).
Now the iPhone: -
1) I have a smart playlist for DJ sets. It's sorted completely randomly, not by Artist/release date like my Nano/iTunes.
2) I can't create "On the Go" play lists by simply selecting All at once (still in Album/release order of course). It defaults to alphabetical order of all the tracks. I have literally 1000s of tracks now I've got 16 x the storage I had on the Nano!
3) I can't see the entire name of a lot of the tracks, not in ANY view, considering the large display this is pathetic, made even more so by the fact a 5 year old NANO could do it.
Is there a work around/preference I've missed somehow that doesn't involve creating a TON of play lists in iTunes beforehand?
