Here's what's happening:

I purchase a song from the iTunes Store. The song and the album all show it as having artwork in the store.
The song is now in my library. No artwork. Just blank. Doesn't matter if I restart the Music app or my computer, the artwork never shows. Only option at this point is to download the artwork separately from some other site and add it manually.

Is this happening to anyone else? Why is this happening?

I have a 2019 16" MBP with 10.15.4 supplemental.

The Music App ln Catalina is sh***:...simple as that. Have the same thing happening, even to my own music (mp3) which have artwork embedded in the file itself. the music app just doesnt show it....only apple knows why.
Only Solution which works perfect for me: look for the applescript called „re-embed artwork“ from dougs applescripts website. mark all files without showing album artwork and run the script - the artwork will then reappear in the music app....good luck
