in the Screensaver. 2 updates ago it quit working, all I get is the message that I have no artwork in my library. It is all there though, and shows in iTunes and iPod. Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks for the response. I downloaded tunes again, and tried a reinstall, but it fails. I redownloaded iTunes 8.01 and tried again, getting the failed notice again.

Edit - Now the whole thing is sluggish. I try to delete iTunes to do a full reinstall, and it fights back. I'm about to do a full factory reinstall on my macbook if this keeps up, and not get iTunes 8 at all.

maybe reinstall the mac osx disks but first back up your data

this might take while though

I'll probably do it this weekend. I done a time machine back up, and an actual copy and paste backup of docs, music and so forth. Most programs, I have them as backups to reinstall those that I want. But, I will stay with itunes 7.7 and not upgrade past it. Genius or no Genius.

Just did it, and all seems to be better. I did note that before doing it, I could not delete the iTunes app. It refused to be deleted from the trash. Weird.

Edit - Reformatted the Mac, ad reinstalled. Most of the updates done. I downloaded and then installed iTunes 8 rather than doing the updated version. All works right now, and on the whole, I lost some junk I apparently had on the drive and now have more space :D
