I'm trying to record voice-over on Mic1 channel, the meters on the mixer give a strong signal, the sound is ok when I hear via my headphones (on the mixer). But when I'm recording to the Mac, the signal is so much weaker. So, I end up setting the volume of Mic1 to maximum and even then I have to give 9/10 gain in order to get a decent volume in the digital audio.

Has anybody else noticed this, and found a solution?
I tried with a dynamic mic and with a shotgun mic, the result was the same.
Cables are new and tested, the mics are fine too.

Also tried other mic channels, just in case, but the result is the same.

Thanks beforehand!

Problem solved

Alesis support told me the weak signal for speech is normal. The mixer is made for loud input like singing, guitar, drums etc... so it is normal that regular speech is quite.
Adjusting the gain and volume helps and in post production, you can give more gain without getting too much noise. It's a bit of a nuisance, but it works.
