Algoriddim's award-winning djay apps for Mac and Windows are getting an update today, bringing Spotify integration to the popular DJ software. Subscribers to Spotify Premium can now access Spotify's entire music catalog from within the djay app, including their own libraries and playlists as well as Spotify's curated editorial playlists.

Spotify integration is available in 51 markets around the world and works with djay's Automix feature that intelligently transitions between tracks with beat-matching for seamless transitions across genres.

Djay has been one of several DJ apps supporting Apple Music, but Spotify integration taps into a significantly larger user base who can now bring all of their existing music content right into djay.

Algoriddim's djay app is a free download from the Mac App Store and the Microsoft Store, with an optional Pro subscription priced at $6.99 per month or $49.99 per year to unlock all features.

Available in Serato too it seems.

Torn on streaming in DJ apps. Lots of small producers struggling to make any money have been seeing a little income at least from DJs buying their mp3s. Now that’s drying up too.

Didn’t Spotify used to do this ages ago and then they pulled it? Has them going with Apple forced them back?
Strange.
Yes they had for maybe 5-6 years ago that’s why I bought this app in the first time. Then they r moved this and had only tidal instead.
So the correct title would be:

Support was originally pulled because Spotify can’t be used for commercial purposes, and DJing is typically a commercial activity.

This is the reason why most DJing apps don’t integrate with consumer streaming services.

Has Spotify relaxed the rules on this, or is it strictly for ‘personal’ DJing only?

It's back likely because Spotify have added their "Mix" capabilities in app.

I loved Djay for its Spotify integration, and hated it when it left. I can ditch Tidal now if the bitrates are good enough (and this is what they want)

Hopefully we see the tide turn and Rekordbox gets a look in too.

Good move from Spotify - this helps make the software and hardware controllers more accessible and useful!

So DJay used to support Spotify for a while, and then sometime around the pandemic or so, Spotify pulled support. Then Apple started integrating Music with DJay and other DJ software like my personal favorite, Serato, and it was just a matter of time before Spotify support came back, which I'm happy to see.

I guess the Philippines is not one of the 51 markets.

Can't get Tidal either.

So I'm stuck requiring both a Spotify subscription AND an Apple Music subscription because AM simply sucks for crate digging and relevant music discovery (don't get me started on syncing devices!)

Use a VPN perhaps?

Probably one of many desperate charm offensive moves to come from Spotify. Artists are leaving Spotify in droves due to their generally being a bad egg (high staff turnover, investment in weapons industry, poor royalties, etc). I just stick with Apple Music (plus Apple Music Classical, Mixcloud, iHeart and occasionally Bandcamp) as well as buy old school physical music formats and go to actual gigs, tho not as many gigs as I used to after leaving the city. Have a large diverse collection of music some of which is uploaded using iTunes Match but I’m increasingly finding over the years the AM catalogue has added a lot of this obscure stuff and it’s all lossless too. Good one Apple!

Accounts on VPN's can be shutdown on a whim and not really fast enough for streaming inside a piece of DJ software. I'd looked into it for Tidal, but too many con's not enough benefits. You also need another countries payment method and address which complicates things.
