I have a NAS backup hdd. When I try to connect to it I get this error message...

"The alias "SERVER" could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found."

When I try to "fix" it I cannot choose the file or my server to choose it. So how do I get around to fixing this?

Thanks ahead of time.

What method are you using to connect to it? If you know its current IP address, I find I have the most luck connecting to it via the Connect To Server item in the Finder's Go menu. :)

yea i've typed in the ip to the server and i get the same error.

Can any other machine son the network access it? Have you tried resetting the network by unplugging the disk and the router/switch from the power and plugging in again after about a minute? :)
