Alias placed in dock keep breaking from source folder?

I can not figure out how to place an iCloud Drive folder in the dock.

1. How do you place an iCloud Drive folder in the dock?
2. Instead I make an alas for the folder and drag it to the dock and it works though after a period of time it turns into a question mark and no longer works. Why is this?
