Great shots! I love the way you captured the intricacies of a moment in one where he's dropping the pick!

Your use of ambient is truly masterful. How'd you get the great positioning? The angle on your last shot it a bit surreal-very nice.

What gear did you use for this? The grain is pleasing enough to be film, but I don't know any ways other than an 8fps DSLR or sheer luck that you would have gotten that falling pick in the air.

Those are great shots. Share some of your technical details including camera/lens.

Thanks guys :)

Nikon D50
50mm f/1.8
ISO 800
1/125-1/200
f/2.8

B&W conversion done in aperture - which I seriously believe is the greatest program ever.

Nice. ISO 800 looks great. By the way, I looked at color versions of these on your site, but I definitely like the B&W versions much better. I definitely need to get a 50mm.

Thanks! I was really dissapointed with the stage lighting, especially considering I put the show on. I'm still relatively happy with the color pics, considering the lighting, but there's just something amazing about black and white photography. I'm going to start converting all of my best concert pics to black and white.

I have to agree, aperture might be my new best friend...also, your varied angles are amazing considering your prime lense! I'm totally impressed!
