I accidentally my whole location.
I was talking to some MR members on iChat earlier this morning when I tried to install this third party plugin which completely f*cked everything up, then I tried to chat on my Lindows box, and it frequently kicked me off, then I tried Adium on my iBook and it said I was blocked!!!
To top it all off, I can't even type into the IRC Java client!!

Is there anything I can do?

There are a lot of Chat Clients for IRC that work but aren't easy to use. I use Ircle.

iChat still needs a lot of fixes/features, the only reason why people use it is due to the eyecandy.
AIM is pretty good client with lots of features. But it seems bloated.

For yahoo there is the Messenger, but that can't join in on any chats but there are third party ones ChitChat b9 (OS 9 and OS X), it works great in OS 9 and has lots of features but its really slow in OS X and there is Charla a Cocoa app that works fast but lacks in features.

MSN is bad and no Chat client exists for it on a mac.

ICQ I haven't tried to chat in a room with.

For the web based IRC chat ARN should use a CGI client instead of a Java because you don't require Java installed on the computer plus it works through firewalls
Here is a link to a free one:
http://cgiirc.sourceforge.net/

try X-Chat Aqua.

it has a harder interface but it is easy to learn if you read the screen and it has alot more power than the others.

besides it is what i use.

Edvinow, the main reason you can't type in that chat, because your in chimera, try in internet explorer. It handles java so much better, its not the chat, its just chimera messing with you.

And adium isn't .mac compatible yet, thought 2.0 is coming very soon and it is .mac compaitble.
