Howdy all,
I have a mid-2015 Macbook Pro with dedicated graphics and am running up to date 10.15.5 OS. About 2 months ago, all the files on my desktop and documents folder disappeared. I searched for and tried possible solutions including showing hidden folders, forcing files to close through terminal, many hardware restarts, and general troubleshooting; all to no avail.
Here's what's extremely strange. The files themselves seem to be not actually deleted because I can see the space they are taking up on my hard drive. I also luckily have access to a pinned folder on Finder that allows me to see inside the folder and it still shows all the documents. This folder is supposed to be under my documents tab but still does not appear.
Attached is a photo showing the path to documents and nothing appearing. New files placed on the desktop or documents folder will appear but I would like my old paths back especially since they are still taking storage. Luckily all of my important files were backed up so that is not my concern here.
To my knowledge, nothing happened to the computer or was downloaded to cause this.
Any suggestions?
