I just had to make a little thread about how amazing my unibody's screen just looks. Its just so damn vivid and blacks are black as hell and even the text looks so freakin clean!

I havnt used my mbp in 2 months away from my 24" LED ACD and I just have to say to the people that are afraid that the mbp's screen are inferior or bad but dont be! Its an awesome screen! :D

I just have comment how the glossy is really annoying and I want to get a matte service replacement when I have money and I'm not buying RAM and HDD upgrades. :D

But the Cinema display is spectacular.

mine is alright. wish it would be matte like my old mbp. but glossy is alright i guess

It's kind of hard to hate it because it is such a nice bright looking LED screen, but I agree that at times the glossy screens do get annoying. I would much rather have a nice bright looking LED matte screen.

the thing is when i'm on the laptop for long periods of time, i think i tend to have more strain on my eyes than when looking at a matte screen

When working with graphics for print + broadcast, it's a horrible thing. But playing video games and surfing the web, it's a beautiful thing. I'm really surprise apple didn't do it the other way around since so many people (editors/photographers/graphic designers) all rely on more on matte screens than glossy screen. Glossy Screens = Beer Goggles :)

I'm hoping the 17" screen is of better quality because I wasn't really impressed when I had the 15" unibody MBP. Also, the backlight leak was god-awful.

i ordered the MBP 17" and i'll be getting it in about a week or so

cant wait to see how the screen looks in its 1080p mightiness! :D

I love how its either something serious like color correcting images or something frivolous like surfing the web. You're an idiot to rely solely on your MBP for color correcting. Buy an external.

Dell's Mini 9 screen is better than the MacBook Pro's.[/url]

Nothing "pro" about it. :/

Actually the gist of that article is that the Thinkpads have great screens and the Dell's is remarkably good.

Compared to my new 24 ACD my MBP Unibody screen doesn't seem nearly as bright, but overall compared to other laptops its great!

I agree with you as long as I am in very dark environment.

As soon as the sun raises, the blacks become of the color of my clothes, the whites darker (yesterday they were reddish since I as wearing a red sweater) and the screen is the most awful one I have seen since 2003, when I started working on matte LCDs.

Some days ago I took out my old Sony Trinitron display and I can say that it is less reflective than the MBP's.

My girlfriend just bought a new MacBook and I love it. I have a PB12" and I hate how much brighter hers is than mine. Other than that I have no complaints.

In short, me = fan of glossy displays.

I'm also using my MBP with a 24" ACD monitor 95% of the time, but when I'm away from home, the MBP screen keeps amazing me! Even though some people don't like glossy screens so much, the MBP's screen is truly unbelievable!
