----Solved------

I have 3 iPads, all with the same passcode. This morning, when I fired one up:
- I swiped and it gave me the 'Enter your apple ID password' box. this seemed to be odd behavior . Seems that I always get the passcode screen first.
- I entered my apple ID password
-The ipad then went to the apple iPad passcode screen where I entered my 4 digit passcode.
- The iPad rejected it over and over. All three iPad have the same passcode, all three rejected it.

now they are all saying 'reenter in 15 min'.
They all worked yesterday. No one has access to these accept my wife and I and she has no clue how to change a password.

Called apple support and (no surprise here) they say I have to nuke and restore. Not a good thing.

Any thoughts on this mess.

After pounding on the things for hours trying to get them to unlock...I handed one to my wife when she came home. She entered the password and it was all good. No clue. Stranger than truth.
