The 32GB is only $399 now but was $429 just about 2-3 weeks ago when I was looking. I ended up buying a brand new sealed unit off ebay for $405 (+9.99 S/H) which still cost less since I didn't have to pay tax on it.

ehhh, i think refurbs come in a special brown box. would apple repackage merchandise just to clear it?

once the new products come out (after the back to school special) old merchandise goes in clearance section, refurbs are all returned merchandise. most likely is that since apple has been selling a lot of units b/c of the promotion going on right now, they have therefore received more units returned.

im positive that the nanos have been that way for like 3-4 months and the touches have been that way for 1-2 months.. but the classics were just given that additional discount within the last week or so.

oh i was just saying it incase anyone was wondering.. like if they wanted to gift a refurb it wouldnt be as tacky as sending someone a cheap brown box with 'refurb' printed all over it.. i wasnt holding anything against your point

No i agree, something is going down as there are many refurbs on the uk apple store, which never has any normally.
Edit: there are also lots of cases for this generation iPods in the clearance bit. For this to be on the uk store, it means there will be a refresh within a month

haha no problem. I just got it yesterday so it was still sitting on my desk. and let me tell you.. the touch i got was in brand new shape. I was told by an apple worker that they replace the whole body when they resell.

best 300 i ever spent
