Latest iOS 13 update on iPhone 11 Pro Max. All my "regular text" and iMessages are gone as of Dec 19. Everything since then are there. Just noticed it now. Went to look for an important chain of TEXT messages & photos and it was gone as was everything inc iMessages before that date. Since this was TEXT not iMessage it wasn't on my iPad either.
Nothing has changed here. "Keep messages forever" is and always has been selected.
Do my icloud backups retain old date in nightly backups or does it just overwrite the previous data every night? Don't want to have to go through the whole erase & restore if I am just wasting my time. I tried a demo of one of those overpriced "data recovery" programs but they don't find anything old.
