Pretty much all my iPhones, 4, 4s, 5, 5s and now my 6+ seem to always get hot when I plug them into my Mac Pro to sync them, back them up or just to simply charge them.

Do any of you guys experience the same thing?

Is charging your iPhone from your Mac a bad idea?

Could this damage the battery?

NOTE: The iPhones are plugged in Via OEM lightning cable into the back of my cinema display.

Heres my Set Up:
  • 2011 Mac Pro (DeskTop)
  • 2 Apple Cinema Displays
  • Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
  • Memory 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC
  • Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
  • Software OS X 10.9.5 (13F34)
