Dude, they haven't been updated for the new resolution yet. Give it some time.

Geez.

does anyone see that the rain drop wall paper in locked position looks a little pixelated or is it just me?

thanks for your quick reply. its the big drop above the text message notification on the right side if that helps

I think I can see what your talking about. is it off just a bit to the right below the last t of the Att logo? If so, i think it's just the background cause I see another one to the left of the message indicator.

Make sure you update your apps. When i hit up the app store there was a bevy of updates waiting for me.

I have almost 200 apps and they are all up to date. I guess most developers don't have the new phone yet they are just making sure it's iOS 4 ready.

Right on. Developers (like me) have been able to submit apps for 4.0 for a while now, but until we get some actual iPhone 4s to test in person we won't know how the app will look on the new screen. Expect MANY update in the next week or so. :D

So it's not my phone? I hope not. I don't want to bug Apple about it. They've got enough going on. I'll just wait out a week and see how it goes.

It's most likely not your phone, that one guy was just being silly. As you know, the new iPhone's screen is double the resolution of the old one, so until you get updates for all your apps that support the high resolution, some of them are going to look pixelated as the iphone tries to double it up for the new display. No worries! =]

The display is just so freaking crisp that it picks up every little detail. I just ran that 2012 app and thought i saw some pixels but they were nothing but stars. The display is badass!

Apps that haven't been updated for the higher res screen should look identical to the way they did on previous phones, other than text and Apple built controls, which will look better. I'm guessing that what you're seeing isn't actually any more pixelated than it used to be, it's just much more obvious when compared to the higher res controls.

Agreed - do you remember when you bought your first DVD player and you thought, "WOW! This looks so amazing! I will never be able to watch VHS again!"??? Then you bought a Bluray player and now your thinking, "WOW! DVD looks like poop!"

Same thing applies here.

Why are my 3rd party apps pixelated?

Anyone else experiencing this? This is pissing me off.

Because it was written for the older lower resolution iPhones. You will have to give it time before the good ones get updated. Most won't bother.

Figured. I love this screen but I guess I won't use to many apps then. It really bothers me.
