I went into the get info about file and made it so all of my documents now open with word again but all the files still have a text edit icon. Anyone know how to fully bring the files back to word?

Make sure you look carefully. Most likely, they are still .doc files, it's simply that the default program to open them is TextEdit. Try to right click, Get Info, Open With:, and make sure Word is selected, and then select "Change All" if you want Word to open all .doc files by default.

Obviously make sure Word is installed first :D

I did do that :p

Maybe I should have made it clearer in my first post.

All the files still have text edit icons. My real question should have been how do I change the icon back so it looks 100% the same as before...

Well, it seems that the actual icon will not look the same as it did in Tiger, as in, the blue Word icon won't show up. I assume your .doc files look like this? I've been looking as well, and it seems like this is the default for how the Word docs will look in Leopard
