Hello everyone, I hope your holiday time is going well.

It’s been a while since I’ve checked in but I’m back to my PowerPC hobby.

I’ve run into a strange problem with almost all of my power PC laptops. They will all start up fine and work for about a minute or two before freezing up and not responding to any input from the trackpad keyboard etc.

I have a video that shows this problem on my 1.67 PowerBook g4. I have attached it in a link.

I’m wondering if anybody has any ideas? I’m really looking forward to using some of my powerbooks but they all seem to be inoperative. I have tried resetting the SMC and NVRAM.

Have you tried running without the battery installed? Random lockups like this can often be a result of power supply problems, but laptops are usually more stable. Can you try a different power adaptor? Safe mode? Can you boot off a DVD and get different results? You might have to mess around a bit.
