Hello!
I have been editing all kinds of footage on my Macbook Pro (2008) without any problems. My laptop just started doing this: when I edit 1920x1080 footage it seems to 'skip'. I litterally see the timeline in fcp move at a weird paste (it will go faster all of a sudden every 3 seconds or so). Quicktime also doesn't display correctly any more (it has leaps). And all of this 13 days after my apple care expired...

Does any one know why this could be?

Thanks in advance,
Sanne

PS my new mbp is on its way, I know it's time for that, but I would like to fix this too :)

Is it just this one piece of footage? Does it happen with other 1080p files? If so, try reinstalling FCP to see if that helps. Otherwise I'd take it in to an Apple Store to have the logic board and graphics card diagnosed.

Good luck.

It happens to all 1920x1080 footage. Both in fcp and in quicktime...
I just installed fcp 7 two weeks ago.. so strange.

thanks for your reply!
