'All Photos' album iOS

What is the difference between the 'All Photos' album and the Photos tab on iOS?

On the Photo tab I can see photos in chronological order and location grouping but the All Photos album is displaying some of my photos in chronological order and others are littered all over the place. What would cause this?

The Photos tab comes with a navigation hierarchy and is grouped by date and places ("Moments"), while All Photos is just literally all your photos in a single stream. The later has a slight higher information density due to having no groupings.

Also All Photos will show the photos in the order they were added to the group. As you're taking or adding photos from multiple sources the order will seem to be all over the place based on when they are added.

I for instance added some older videos recently that show at the bottom of the All Photos group but show in 2012 in the photos tab because they were shot in 2012 so have been sorted.
