So we went to see the warm up of the Trooping The Colour today, something that is done each year to mark the Queen's birthday. The weather was amazing and we got some great pictures, thought some of you (especially over seas) might find them interesting...these strange British folk and their funny hats!! ha! :)

Nice pics. I didn't know they had a rehearsal, how did you find out about that?

Also, I had no idea that it was such a lovely day too. Not that I'd know, been in bed most of the day with the blinds closed.

They have a rehearsal every year - I thought it was common knowledge. Then again I come from a military family.

I knew it was a lovely day but I'm stuck inside studying :(

Great pics BTW :)

Are you allowed to get close enough to talk to them, and if so, will they talk back? In Oslo, where the castle is a playgroud compared to London :p , the guards (who are recruits doing their required year of military service) aren't supposed to answer, they're supposed to look straight ahead. But sometimes they'll say something, out of the corner of their mouths, looking straight ahead. :D

They aren't supposed to move whilst on duty. You can dance infront of them but they still wont do anything unless you touch them when they can sometimes thibk of it as assault. Hilarious when that happens
