No updates will work on my computer. This includes the app store as well as third party software like Microsoft office. I have googled to find out what the problem could be but I cannot find the answer. I have reset the computer twice.
I infer that your computer is a Mac because you are posting to a Mac fan forum. I also infer that you are running OS X Mavericks because your post is to the OS X Mavericks area of this forum. OK, you have an unspecified version of Microsoft Office installed. However, you have given absolutely no other information that can be used to diagnose your problem or otherwise help you.

Sorry about that. Your conclusions are correct. I have a 2010 mac, a copy of 2011 Microsoft office. I also cannot update adobe reader. I am sorry for the difficulty in answering my question, I am just not sure what information would be helpful. Could you tell me a few things that would be helpful? Thanks!
OK. The thing that you need to understand is that yours is the very first that I have ever seen from a user who cannot update any software. The only thing that I can think of is that you are logged into a restricted account. You cannot use a restricted account to install software or even to change settings.
It would be helpful to tell us what happens. How do you know nothing will update? What do you see? What does it tell you? So far, you haven't even asked a question. Your first post is just a statement.
