A few months ago as I was rehearsing for a gig, I almost broke my headphone jack. I accidentally got my hand caught on the headphone wire while playing and it jerked my whole computer toward me and almost sent it flying off the stand it was on. When I pulled the headphones out, I realized that the connection was very loose and that it doesn't stay in well at all. The jack still works but is essentially useless without me taping the plug (the rubber part you hold just above the actual metal) onto the side of my computer.

My questions are
1) Is the headphone jack going to eventually stop working if I keep plugging things into/out of it?
2) Are there any adapters I could use, like USB to Audio or FireWire to Audio? I've heard there might be problems with staticky sound with adapters.

1. Eventually.

2. Not necessarily. But what other choices do u have? Ah, repair the original jack. Ur aware any adapter is gonna stick out like a sore thumb. Wireless Bluetooth?
