I have an 11 Pro and wife has an 11 Pro Max. We were not planning to upgrade, but then Verizon offered us each a $1000 trade-in to up our phones to 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. Impossible to resist, and, aside from the $35 trade-up fee and sales tax, no out of pocket charges once the trade-ins kick in.

We had no real compelling reason to upgrade. My "11 pro" was a 256 GB and wife's "11 pro max" was a 64 GB. My "11" still has 198 GB free and wife's "11 pro" still has about have its GB free. So, we are both getting the minimal 128 GB "13"s.

We live in a rural-suburban area, so no 5G here but wife works in a major metro area where there is 5G.

Damn you, Verizon! :)

Oh...the Verizon site is being slammed and locks up a lot. Gosh, I wonder why.

Such a good deal. I helped my sister in law preorder the 13 yesterday through Verizon sites but we kept hitting a snag on the estimated bill screen. She was trading in an iPhone X for the awesome $800 credit but the estimated bill was way out of wack so I called and spoke to a terrible sales guy.

He told me that he could do the $1000 for the trade of the X to which I questioned but he said nope he could do it as a one time thing. So we thought great! So we ordered her the 13 Pro since it would he essentially free. We get all the paperwork and it turns out he never even added the trade and he lied about the $1000. I called back and cancelled it immediately, they kept apologizing too but that was it. I should have trusted my gut when he kept saying he could do the $1000. Can’t stand people like that.

I went back online and did it all on there and she got her 13 for free with the credit from the iPhone X, last time I’ll ever talk to the sales people there.
Great deal!

I thought the same until I dug a little deeper. The trade in credits are in monthly installment over 24 or 30 months. You have to keep that phone for that entire time frame to get full advantage of the credits. If you are on the fence of going to the iPhone 14 next year and drop the 13 then your credits will stop.

As a French dude we don't have this kind of deal but we have 4G plans with 80GB for €9/ month, and 5G is a 3€/month extra for same 80GB data monthly (+ unlimited call, messages etc ofc) and you can leave whenever you want with 0 fees..

Just wondering how much cost a Verizon 4G/5G plan ? How can they "offer" $1000 ? They should charge you big monthly fees somewhere at least in the carrier plan to finance these trade-in right ?

Phone plans are way more expensive here. Verizon's basic unlimited plan is $70 per month for one line. Pricing gets better per line if you have multiple lines. Higher end plans give you priority data speed rates for the first 50GB.

They also include streaming service perks. Depending on the plan. Video on those streaming services may not count against data. But video quality is also limited.

In the long run. You pay less over three years with the pricing you get.

You can always tell when a salesman is lying. His lips are moving.

All you have to do is trade the 13 in to Apple. They'll probably give you $650 it when the 14 drops. They don't care if it's paid off or not.

Then I would still have the phone charge and the trade in credits on my bill, and have to stay with Verizon until I get the last credit.

So if I want to trade in my 11PM and my daughter's XR, how does it work in terms of monthly credits? The 11PM would be a straight trade for the 13Pro and the XR would leave a $200 balance owed. What would I be getting credited over 30 months? I also have $160 in device credits, so I can I apply that to this order. Spent 20 minutes on hold with Verizon and gave up.
