already in family plan + Upgrade to 3G = OK?

Hi,

I currently have a non-smart phone and I'm planning on upgrading soon, but I'm also currently in a family plan with another non-smart phone. As far as I can tell, I am eligible for an upgrade and I believe I can get the iPhone, but how will already being on a family plan affect that? or will it not?

Has anyone done this before from a fam plan?

It doesn't affect anything really, just adds another 30$ data plan to your line.

I was added to my parents' family plan coming from another carrier and I didn't have a problem getting an iPhone.

I agree it shouldnt affect anything.

We have a combination of iPhone, smart(ish) phone and dumb phone on our family plan
