To each his own, I suppose. But if someone wanted a window manager without any windowing controls (eliminating the need for a mouse), wouldn't it make more sense to just run a regular unix shell? That would give keyboard-only (text-based) control with an ultra-light footprint, for servers and whatnot. Are there any text-only shells that offer "multiple desktops" (switching between active shells with a keyboard combo), like Spaces, but for shells only?
 
SizeUp is quite a good application. I use it quite often if I have a lot of things to do at once and don't feel like using Spaces. I don't usually, if ever, like tiling WMs, though.
