Hi
Is there anyone on here familiar with this app?
I've been using it for about 4 years as a student. Recently I've gotten a job and first pay started rolling in at the end of January. Obviously I want to try and save as much as possible and chip away at the loans.
What I've noticed though is that the "Life" budget I have, which I use to see all my expenses for a month has been inaccurately rolling over, thus giving me a false idea of how much money I actually have. I have the budget set to $1900/mo right now. In February I apparently had a surplus of $11 after income/expenses.
However starting the year in January I had about $2000 in my account which I used to pay off various bills etc with the first pay coming in last week of Jan.
Now, when I add up all ACTUAL dollars in my accounts I have about $2800 in savings. According to the app though I have $3800 in savings.
When I look at the "life" budget it shows my $1900 monthly budget PLUS $11 rolled over into February. So currently in March I'm in a $200 surplus since I haven't spent as much. So the app is showing that I have $1911 (rollover Feb) and $1900 (march budget) giving me $3811. When I get paid at the end of the week it'll go up by a few more thousand. That is definitely not accurate since I don't have that much in savings.
What is the error here? How should I set up the app so that it gives me:
1. A monthly budget
2. My individual budgets like "groceries $250/mo; internet $50/mo" etc so that they don't mess up my TOTAL savings.
3. Is there a better app alternative? I like the pictorial indication, almost like a battery that shows how close you are to your budget etc.
