My Iphone recently stopped charging due to a small amount of water damage at the around the metal prongs at its base from where it charges. The phone still works perfectly but the battery has simply died without power. I went to the store and found out that this water damage had occured and of course my warranty was void and I was screwed. However, the employee did make it sound like the damage was very minor; he had thought there was a fair chance it could be fixed by cleaning around the base (though at the time it could not be).

I was wondering if there is any way to replace or circumvent the normal dock without extensive repair?

Thanks for your help.
