alternative for jDownloader

Is anyone familiar with jDownloader? I used it all the time in the old days ... then suddenly it stopped working correctly with the latest Mac OS - about two or three iterations ago.

It was a great program: you simply fed a download link into it, and it could download anything much faster than a browser. It would also download anything from a youTube link.

But then it stopped working, somewhere around 2022, now it turns on and it downloads, but it takes like an hour to download a 3MB file. so useless!

Can anybody recommend a dedicatied downloader program that they know actually works with Ventura and even Sequoia?

If you are downloading video files, Downie is an excellent app (not free). I have been using it for years.

that's worth trying.

The great thing about jDown is that it could grab anything from a download link, youTube videos or anything.
