So after almost six months of back breaking job hunting, I've finally found a job doing direct marketing (mainly outbound telephone sales). I'm not sure what the proper job title is. I don't like the sound of 'Telemarketer' or 'Direct Marketer' because there are generally unpleasant connotations associated with those titles.

If anyone has any ideas of an interesting job title for this position, I'd be more than happy to hear it. Thanks.

I'm all for calling a spade a spade. Flight attendants are still stewardesses, administrative assistants are still secretaries, custodians are still janitors. And you're still a telemarketer.

Giving it a different name doesn't make it any more or less glamorous, or any more or less distasteful. It's a job. Get over it.

Stop hating on the sales guy. Remember, until they sell something, most of you have no job.
