Friend just called and said putting clear finger nail polish over the seam will fix the issue a bit, I can't confirm this however not having the phone yet. I know most people would be hesitant to doing such drastic things to fix a phone that should work out of the box.

Interesting idea... especially if you are going to use a bumper. Apple will eventually replace this, so if someone tries it, and it works, lets do it, use a bumper, and wait until we get new phones.
