I use my Airport Express for streaming music to a set a speakers plugged into it, I connect to the APEx by ethernet. I only use it for music.
Problem is that the device is so flaky.
Recently I thought I'd fixed problems by switching off IPv6 Connection Sharing but still I can go for days with no hassles then literally 10 times in a day (or more) the speakers will drop-out & have to be flicked back on in iTunes.
The weird thing is that the light on the APEx will still be showing green & Airport Utility does not register any problems when iTunes loses the speakers.
So anyhews... I'm sick of it & need a stable alternative for music streaming from iTunes.
Anyone have any suggestions (that don't involve buying a $1000 set of AirPlay compatible speakers...)

Raspberry Pi Zero (£4) + USB ethernet adapter (£8) + Musicbox distro works really well. The only thing more stable is an ethernet connected Pi version B with Shairport for £25
