I have tried and tried and the bottom line is I can't stand the alum keyboard that now comes with Mac desktops. I type better on my black key Macbook Pro.

That said comments on an alternative. I can't find any of the old white plastic Mac keyboards so I'm looking at Logic Tech or DAS What are others using?

I use the wired aluminum for work, wireless for my MacMini HTPC and now I use the Logitech K750 for my desktop. I've gotten used to it now (it feels different than the aluminum) and I like it a lot. I have one of the old white wireless ones. (the one on top) I do love that one a lot. I just don't use it much nowadays. It came with my 2008 MP.

I just switched to the Logitech K811 bluetooth. It has a better typing feel to me than the Apple Wireless or Wired aluminum keyboards.

Thankfully there's a used market out there for the Apple wireless keyboards.

I realize these are not popular with everyone, some even say ugly, but I really like the old "model M" IBM PC keyboard with buckling springs under each key. There is just something about the feel and feedback of that keyboard that I keep coming back to.

The company that bought/licensed that technology from IBM is still making them, including a Mac model.

And I went with the logitech K760 solar keyboard and cannot say enough about it. It works. No batteries :D

I'm using a Razer Black Widow Ultimate for Mac, with mechanical keys. It's really nice.

I love my clicky keyboard.

I highly recommend the Kinesis Freestyle 2 for mac.

Very comfortable to type on and surprisingly tactile too. It's like quieter version of Cherry MX blue despite not being mechanical. Lots of functional keys as well.

I'm using one of the DAS keyboards, and find it to be a much better experience than the Apple. It is somewhat noisy, so you may want to take that into consideration if you are in a shared workspace.

I have a spare white Apple Pro Keyboard. I switched to the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate for Mac, it's the cherry mx blue version with the blue LEDs.
