I have a 1080i camcorder and HDTV. Obviously I'm on a Mac -- a Macbook Pro specifically. I was ready to get an AppleTV. I do love the idea of how simple it would be to have access to all our videos/photos. BUT I am puzzled by the 540p limitation. I don't like the idea of shooting in 1080i but only being able to watch it in 540p. I have another post about how 540p looks relative to, say, a 480i DVD run through a progressive scan player. So far I've read its not THAT much differ and others are up in arms.
What other solutions are there and what do you think? Toast + a Blu-ray player?? (how would that work with what I have) PS3?? I'm not a gamer (don't know much about PS3 either).
I DO want to be able to edit the movies first. 2hrs of uncut vacation movies are terribly boring. Perhaps AppleTV is the best way and perhaps the quality is good enough, just looking for suggestions. Thanks
