Is there any way to increase the baseline volume for my macbook air. I can't hear podcasts, or netflix. Boom works beautiful, however in mavericks it messes up the sync.

I wish I could verify this (I'm not at home), but I'm pretty sure I have Boom installed on my 2011 MBA running mavericks and it seems to be working fine.

I seem to remember it was not working until I (1) uninstalled; (2) reinstalled; I got it from the Apple App Store and at this point the driver that can actually boost the sound was not installed. So then I went through the UI to download and install the driver and all was well. (That's how I remember it... the only thing that gives me pause is that maybe this is what happended when I upgraded to ML not Mavericks.)

So I guess my point is: make sure you've got the latest software and driver for Boom before looking for an alternative.

I had a chance to check and Boom is running fine on my 2011 MBA with Mavericks.
