Hi

I search for an alternative to Google Earth with OpenStreetMap data and offline maps.

That means an OpenStreetMap client for Mac OS X. Any idea?

Try eMaps - small and free, it may suit your needs.

Thanks. Nice Google Maps desktop utility for Mac OS X

eMaps provides street maps, satellite and street view imagery, driving directions, traffic info, local search for many countries around the world. Features include reverse geocoding, the ability to create and export customized maps, set a default location and save your favorite places in a dedicated menu.

but one important feature is missing: offline maps

maybe the eMaps developer will add an OpenStreetMap layer

Ciao Cindy,

honestly I don't like OpenStreetMap... the project is commendable, but the map service is much less complete and accurate compared to Google Maps.

However, should not be difficult to add a layer with the OpenStreetMap. I can try to do it... but to use all OpenStreetMap data (the geocoding data, the addresses database etc.) I should rewrite the app from scratch :)...

Thanks,
Emanuele
