I've been using MacPAR Deluxe for years, like several times a day for over 2 years, and today I ran into a new problem. When it's checking all the rars (.r05, .r06 etc.) on the Snow Leopard download I just finsihed (after 35 hours!) it gets a few invalid checksums - no biggie I've got arond 100mb of par2 files to deal with that - but then it laggs on file .r11 and then jumps down to .r24, .r25 etc. (there's 4 more down there that have invalid checksum) and then decides it doesn't have enough to to restore - presumably because it thinks .r12-23 are missing - which they are not.

I think it's just a fluke error of MacPAR Deluxe (which I just downloaded the newest version of to the same effect) and an alternative program should work fine.

Any other programs to be suggested?

p.s. I've ordered a copy of Snow Leopard but I'm out of the country (for many more months) to receive it, if anyone was gonna jump on that.

It looks like the latest version only works on Snow Leopard, using Grand Central Dispatch. If you don't have SL, it probably won't work right. You can still download the older version of the program, too. My older copy works fine.
