This is a particularly stupid question, but I - like many others - already have watches but are somewhat interested in this new product category. I myself have 7 watches that I rotate based on my outfit, ranging from formal to casual to novelty.

I like watches.

So simply based on the fact it's a small, convenient notification device, I wonder if anyone's put any thought into alternative ways to use it, since there's no way I'm replacing all my watches with an apple one?

The fact that 3rd party straps must be rapidly incoming means we will soon be able to connect it to many other things than our wrists or ourselves.

Thoughts?

Glad I'm not the only one confused by this post.
My brain hurts now.

haha, sorry man!

Just I wear plenty of watches, so this thing isn't going to replace them. but a discreet and discrete notification device does have its benefits. As MrGimper and wbitsky suggest, the strap could be swapped out to turn it into a nurses watch or to clamp onto a bike. A fob watch chain would be cool if you happen to be into waistcoats.

The functional element of this thing is a small rectangle like the old 6th gen iPod nano, just an interesting prospect for different uses and wondered if anyone had any epiphanies :p

Maybe we could even add an iPod nano clip?

When I removed both segments of the band during my viewing I was struck by how much like a little pocket watch it appeared. Put it on a chain and wear it that way. Hipsters will turn green with envy!

Tape them to your forehead.

All ideas expressed in this post are the IP of MICHAELSD :p.

I assume that someone will very shortly come out with a clip similar to the one on the back of an iPod Shuffle (or 6th gen Nano) for the Apple watch. After all, if there were (several) aftermarket products to turn the Nano into a watch, there will be aftermarket products to turn the Watch into a Nano (paired with BT headphones).
