hey, i'm sorry if this was brought up before, but i didn't feel like digging through the old threads...

does anyone know of any free alternatives to photoshop? i'm looking for a software that i can use to crop and edit photos, but i'm not willing to drop $700 for photoshop. imagewell is out there, but i don't think it's enough to get the job done. any help would be great.

thanks

Acorn is NOT free.

i've been looking for the same thing as the thread starter. i know photoshop is the bees knees, but i just can't talk myself into dropping that kind of dough. not to mention that adobe has a horrid record of helping its customers when things like new OS's come out.

Acorn and Pixelmator are not free, this is true. However, they are a tiny fraction of the price of Photoshop yet offer very powerful features. Worth checking out especially as you have already considered paying the extortionate price tag for PS. :)
