So I just bought a Apple Watch SE (love this thing so far.) I’m using the compass and elevation complication on my watch. I was just wondering if this affects the battery life at all. If it does affect battery then does removing the complication help with battery or do I have to disable something?

No noticeable impact on battery life.

as a normo you would think it does. But apple have done some great work so it only actually updates the complication when you need it to. Even without the complication it’s constantly reading the elevation and doing it’s math so power is used. Complication or not.

top tip to those looking to squeeze ever second of battery out of their watches....STOP! Stop turning your amazing watch into a 1980’s Casio. The battery will easily last a day and then some (40hrs on my AW6 with everything on and using Siri and more).

don’t use a battery complication. The drain is near linear and won’t suddenly die on you. /EndRant

I use the Battery Grapher complication on a lot of faces. Far more useful than the standard battery complication. I‘m much more interested in the approximate number of hours I have left on the battery than just a percentage. It allows me to plan ahead and make decisions on when and if I need to charge the watch. Very handy. It takes a few days for the estimates to become accurate though.
