So I've been in the market for a new iPhone case and I stumbled onto Alto Collective wood phone cases. They're doing a kickstarter right now and they're offering an early bird special:

"EARLYBIRD: ANY case for just $25!!! Choose one case from any of these pledge levels: ExoticWood, Design, Burl, Inlay ______For iPhone and Samsung Galaxy: 4/4s, 5/5s, 5c and S3, S4."

Just wondering if anyone had experience using them before? I like their designs and using wood seems to stand out from the run of the mill cases...especially since no wood grain is the same. Anyone have a wood case before?

Those are nice, however I had to dismiss all wood cases and skins. Wood is soft and WILL dent, chip and splinter (like real wood) within a few months or less depending on how you handle your phone, or where you set it etc. Beautiful product but not ideal for mobile phone use.

I just ordered one from Alto via kickstarter. Hope it goes through. I will let you guys know how it goes!

Looks like the kickstarter is going ahead. Did anyone else order from here?

You may want to explore some other awesome options.

I went with a wood case from another vendor (Carved), mainly because I didn't want to wait, but I'm curious about the Alto.

Post some pix when you receive it.

Evutec just came out with one that has Kevlar in it to strengthen the wood. I have their "Karbon" case on my iPhone 5S and its pretty nice. Its a very thin outer case (shell) with a rubber gasket insert as a cushion. Dropped my phone the other day (onto carpet thankfully) and it survived.

Do you have pictures and where did you get it.:)

Sorry no pics but this LINK shows my case (carbon fiber look, no wood). Got my case at the Apple Store. Just grabbed it on a whim, didn't do any research - just needed a case ASAP and was in the store so I figured "what the heck", turned out to be decent case.

Well, I was 30 minutes late to order mine. Now Kickstarter is finished and Alto's website has no way to place orders. :(

Made me sad. :(
