Alu 2.4 Macbook not sleeping!

I've noticed this a few times in the few weeks ive had it...

When i close the lid to let it sleep while on the way to work etc, the light which fades in and out whilst in sleep, DOESNT fade in and out and every 5-10 seconds, the cd drive spins up, the apple logo flashes and it starts again..

should i be worried? the only apps open were adium and skype

This would happen to me when i would disconnect my digital camera through the usb port while the computer was already closed. I called apple care and they had me reset the power mngt system.
1.turn off the computer
2. take out the battery as well as unplugging it from the wall charger
3. with the battery out hold the power button for 8 seconds
4. Place the battery back in and power up
*you might also want to reset your PRAM

hmm, nothing wasplugged in though. i guess it may have been another time that i did it?
