Hi there,
I have done a bit of Googling and it appears I might not be alone in this boat.
I bought a Macbook 2.0GHz Alu off eBay. Its 4 months old. You can see the battery information below - only 20 cycles - so its in good condition. All my comparisons are based on coming from an Early 2008 White Macbook (2.4GHz).
First thing I noticed was when charging. It took way longer to reach 100% fully charged than my Whitebook - approx 3 hours from 40%. Some forum posts on the internet report this as normal - as it has some kind of controlled charging technique to keep the battery in better condition. Can anyone confirm?
Secondly - When I went to bed, I closed to the lid on my Macbook and left it. Not connected to the AC. When I came home from work (approx 15hrs had passed since putting it to sleep), I opened the lid and the battery had dropped to 66%. This never happened on my Whitebook. Again - this seems to be a common problem. I have reset the PRAM at the advice of some forum posts - have yet to see if it makes a difference. Some also suggest turning off Bluetooth - which I have done.
Anyone else experienced this problem? I am thinking its a Firmware problem that can be corrected by Apple at some point.
Battery Info below - many thanks.
