I'm assuming that the 24" ACD will be pushing the limits of the 9400M. Will I notice any decrease in performance (graphics or otherwise) when I drive the 24" ACD? Will the MB run substantially hotter when driving the 24" ACD?

On a somewhat unrelated note, is it possible to get a discount on a refurb 24" ACD using the student developer discount? Truthfully, I can't find a suitable monitor other than the 24" ACD, but I'm not prepared to spend $1,000 on it (even if I had the money).

Thanks for the help.

If you're just using the display for day-to-day tasks, it shouldn't impact the temperatures too badly. When I drive my 40" LCD TV at 1920x1080 (Mini-DP-->DVI-->HDMI), my Al-MB gets no hotter than when driving the internal LCD. If you're looking to game on it, that's a whole 'nother story.

Definitely not gaming... what about HD movies?
