Alu MB Loud HDD/Clicking top case - Advise Please

Two issues:
1- I have the Toshiba MK2553GSX 250GB stock hard drive and it is constantly making a humming noise. xBench scores came back just fine (44.71 for Drive/128.43 Overall) so I don't want to switch it out.
2- When i rest my hand on the right side of the trackpad I hear clicking noises. I don't know if the case it hitting the HDD or what.

I would like to try using some sort of rubber/cloth pieces to make these noises be less noticeable or go away. What do I use? What is a safe material to put inside my MB to try this trick? What size tools (screwdriver, etc.) do I need to get for this?
I want to know what you guys would recommend using...

You may have a faulty drive - I have same exact drive and it's the quietest drive I'ver heard. Can't feel or hear anything ever when there's complete silence.

clicking is one noise you NEVER want to hear out of a drive. Back up your data as soon as possible, and do it often. Clicking often means hard drive failure. It could work for a long time before it poops out. Don't want to scare you too much, I just don't want you to be left out in the cold in the worst case scenario.

yup, i have the same drive too...and mine is dead silent...the only thing i can hear on my macbook is the fan, but thats just because i have no music on and the room is QUIET!

so clicking/loud noises...NOT GOOD

If the sound isn't too loud (everyone thinks differently here), it could be just the head of the HD parking itself which is very normal. It happens more depending on what you are doing at the time. I would have to hear it to see if that is it.

So I'm getting my macbook replaced... I'm not excited about going without my laptop for a whole week or so, but after talking to Apple Care product specialist i decided to go for it. I called to ask about the HDD sounds, and he said they could replace that for me. Then as we spoke I told him about my other issues with the clicking case, loose HDD plastic casing, screen not sitting well on bottom case.... and he said "we need to go ahead and just send you a new one". So i'm going for it.
I know the replacement might have other issues, but at this point i'm willing to take the chance. The prod specialist assured me that he would take care of any other issues with the new one.
Here's to hoping that MB number 5 will be the MAGIC one for me!!

5? For real? Did you get all the others at the same store? Either you ran into a very bad batch or you have a black mac cloud following you.

All at Best Buy the first batch that came to the store.. I really hope it's a bad batch

Magic number 5 came in and it was surprisingly easy to work with Apple Care..
I have to say it has the same Toshiba HDD than the previous and still making the woosh sound. Mayb that's just hot Toshiba HDDs are...
Other than the HDD, a few slanted keys, but no biggie. My screen is 9C8C and it works just fine. I have to confess I've started using a calibration profile (Spyderpro got it from one of the threads on here) and it looks great.
One thing that I did notice... the MB has a different SuperDrive than the previous one. It's the HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS21N and I've noticed that it makes less noise when botting up. Just as a fact...
So I'm a little dissapointed that the HDD noise is not all the way inexistent, but will live with that as everything else seems to be working great...
